English Language Change

Miss Latocha 9/18/19

Two personality characteristics that Gena Babineaux attributes to error filled job applications are "laziness" and "lack of care." While proper grammar and sentence structure are very important, I feel that there needs to be a compromise between completely labeling texting and social media as the root of the deterioration of new generations, and simply a new form of a living language. According to Alessandra Potenza's article, "F in Grammar? Maybe It's Your Phone's Fault," Babineaux isn't the only person who blames texting. College Admissions Counselors, English Teachers, and employers everywhere have a growing concern for the future workforce of America (p. 23).
